Course overview
The Cambridge First exam (FCE) is an internationally recognised examination for a B2 level of English. We’ll cover all 4 aspects of the exam while boosting your language to take your English to the next level.
The mix of live and recorded classes gives you the best of both worlds: accountability and flexibility. Each week you will receive detailed feedback on your work so you can reach your language goals.
The course is divided into exam technique and language development. That means you get training in the technique for each part of the exam, and raise your English to a confident B2. Each unit is related to a commonly tested exam topic to get you ready for the exam in record time.
You can also take a practice test before you present for the certificate, and do a full speaking test with me, a certified Cambridge speaking examiner.
Course content
Each 4 week block covers a commonly tested exam topic. This makes sure that you have the language you need to wow your examiners and boost your marks.
There is extensive skills training for your speaking and writing exam and I will take you through the best exam strategy to maximise your marks in all 4 papers.

Who is this course for?
Have you been studying English for a long time but find traditional lessons ineffective? Are you impatient to get your certificate? Do you want a course that deals with your language needs directly, not a coursebook’s?
Then this is the course for you! I won’t waste your time doing boring grammar exercises that don’t help you progress. Instead, I’ll give you the skills and language to finally reach your goals and pass that exam! That doesn’t mean that all you’ll be doing is exam exercises either. I choose exciting and interesting content for us to discuss, making sure that you have a fantastic learning experience.
This course is designed for people with a B2 or high B1 level of English. If you have a lower level, I recommend following my English Improvers course first.

I recommend a 6 month preparation period. This is the time it will take you to learn each part of the exam. This assumes you have the necessary B2 level to pass your exam. If your level is lower, you will need more time before you are ready to present.
If your level is too low then I can’t accept you onto the course. This is for your own benefit. Although you may think that doing the exam technique is enough, if you don’t have a high enough level to follow the course you will not make progress. It is much better to do one of my lower level courses first before doing an exam course.
The language exam you take depends on your needs. As a general rule, if you want to study in the UK or need an English qualification for visa requirements, then IELTS is the best option. If you want a qualification to use in the EU, then Cambridge exams are a better choice.
I ask my students to give me 2 week’s notice if they can no longer continue with their course. I will always send you a reminder asking you to confirm if you are continuing. If you tell me after the 2 week’s notice period, there is a £60 cancellation fee which you can use towards 1 week of classes.
There are Cambridge exam centres all over the world. Check the Cambridge website to find the one nearest to you.
It normally takes 6-8 weeks to get your Cambridge exam results.
